Delivering medical equipment to Foya Liberia

We are embarking on a major project this year.  Partnering with Rotary Australia Worldwide Community Services Donations in Kind Project of SA, we will send recycled health and office equipment to Liberia in early 2018.  With community help Rotary Mawson Lakes will fund the cost of transportation.

We need to raise about $20,000.

Liberia is one of the poorest countries in the world and relies heavily on foreign aid.

Foya Town is 450 k by road north of the capital of Liberia -Monrovia.   It is near the borders of Sierra Leone and Guinea and provides help to isolated areas of all three countries.  It is home to over 20,000 people who have experienced devastating civil war and the Ebola virus.  Infrastructure and health services are limited.  They need an improved health system to address infant and child mortality, preventable diseases, health and hygiene. The Liberian government has built a hospital but it cannot open without equipment and trained staff.

Mawson Lakes Rotary and the Liberian Australian Service Foundation will be holding a fundraiser - Africa Meets Australia Come party for a good cause dinner and concert on Friday December 1 Dennison Centre Garden Terrace Mawson Lakes, 7pm onwards.  Entrance is $25. Click  Here for Information

Please follow our project on our website and support our fund raising activities.  We will gratefully accept suitable donations for fund raising raffles and auctions, your sponsorship and cash donations towards the project.  If you believe you have useful health or office equipment in good working order contact David on 0417 202066
